Abstract
Во Папуа Нова Гвинеја родовиот идентитет бил опишуван како строга сегрегација и угнетување врз жените. Но, канибализмот може да ни даде нови видувања за родовиот идентитет. Културата создава граници што имплицираат поделба, која се доживува преку истоста. Ова општествено искуство е проектирано врз телото. Во чинот на канибализмот, материјата и моќта се заменуваат. Тогаш, родовиот идентитет рефлектира идеологија, а не телесна функција.
